Teacher Teresa is the Creator and Lead Teacher at Treesprites. Teresa has over 13 years of experience teaching in early childhood Waldorf programs.
She completed her four-year Waldorf Teacher Training at Summerfield’s, Center for Educational Renewal in Santa Rosa, CA in 2012. She completed her LifeWays North America Early Childhood Certification in June 2017.
In 2010, Treesprites appeared, it grew and blossomed for three years, then Teresa realized that her own two children needed her attention. Treesprites transformed into a Waldorf-Inspired Homeschool Classroom. For the next 5 years, Teresa taught homeschool children in grades 2-7. In 2016, Teresa realized how much she missed the spirit of the young child. Her own children were taking more classes out of the home, which allowed the preschool to reopen part-time.
In 2002, Teresa began taking classes in Early Childhood Education, after the birth of her eldest son. He opened her eyes to the awe and wonder that children bring into the world. As soon as this happened Teresa knew that she couldn’t go back to her .com “sit at a desk” day-job in SF. She has been the assistant teacher at several local Waldorf Preschools, as well as a traditional preschool in San Anselmo with over 50 students. She also worked in the aftercare program for K – 6th grade in San Anselmo.
Over the years, Teresa has a developed a deep passion for sharing the world of fiber arts with children. She began teaching Fiber Art Summer Camps in 2013, and has students returning every summer.
